Hamlet Trash Rules

Trash shall not be put out at curbside before 6 pm on the evening prior to the appointed pick-up days. All trash receptacles must be put away by 8 am the morning following the day trash is picked-up. Household trash must be in a trash can or a trash bag which is tied. Between pick-ups, all trash cans or containers and recyclable containers shall be kept out of the site line from the street and shall not be visible from the street or stored on the front porch.

All trash and household refuse shall be kept in covered cans or plastic trash bags. Trash and household refuse shall not be kept in paper bags. Untied or unbagged newspapers are prohibited.

Trash Removal, Recycling & Bulk pick up are on Tuesday in Hamlet. If Tuesday is a Holiday, pick up will be Wednesday. Yard waste pick up is on Wednesday (April 1^st thru December 15^th.).

Non-compliance - $50-$100 Fine per occurrence.

Mailboxes at Hamlet

TO: All Hamlet Residents FROM: Hamlet Board or Village Shires Management RE: Hamlet Mail Boxes We have contracted with a painter to refurbish and paint the mailboxes in Hamlet which has been completed. Recently, the boxes have been marked up with hand written house numbers on the street side exterior. This is considered defacing the boxes and we will be removing the numbers shortly, repainting those effected. We have contacted the post master and informed him of this incident. The current mail carrier (or their substitute) is aware of each resident's mail slot on the interior of the boxes so they do not need to know the house numbers on the exterior. As a reminder, the mailboxes are there solely for the purpose of delivering your mail and should not be used to post flyers for lost pets, advertised services, etc. If you have any questions or concerns with your mailbox please contact the management office. Thank you for helping to keep our neighborhood a pleasant and clean place to live.

Trash Time Change

Hamlet Trash Update: We recently updated the Hamlet Rules & Regulations to reflect a more reasonable time for trash to be put at curb-side. As you know in the colder months it starts getting dark earlier. Therefore, residents are now permitted to put their trash out no earlier than 5 pm the night before pick up. The time was previously 6 pm. A revised copy of the Rules & Regulations has been uploaded here on the website under "Community Documents".

Keep an eye out for children playing or riding bikes in yards, driveways or on the streets. We must all keep our eyes peeled for children as they may dart out between parked cars. Also, be especially careful anytime backing up.
